Casey H. Cusick is an experienced commercial litigator who concentrates his practice on representing sophisticated clientele in a diverse array of business-related disputes.
Over the years, the hallmark of Casey’s practice has been representing businesses and their principals in high stakes, complex commercial matters, including bet-the-company litigation involving ownership and control of closely-held companies, contractual disputes of all sizes and varieties, and business torts involving corporate and individual liability. Casey has significant experience litigating matters relating to financial fraud, including disputes relating to improper diversion and waste of corporate assets, mortgage fraud, and fraudulent and deceptive trade practices. At one time, Casey represented the largest “net loser” investor group that was victimized by one of South Florida’s most reputed Ponzi schemers. Additionally, Casey’s practice has included representing plaintiffs and defendants in high value, real estate-related litigation such as commercial and residential mortgage foreclosures and disputes regarding the purchase, sale, and leasing of real property throughout Florida. In the past, Casey has represented an out-of-state real estate investment trust on a variety of complex real-estate related disputes throughout Florida.
Prior to joining the firm, Casey was an associate for several years at a premier commercial litigation boutique located in downtown Miami. He is a member of the Florida Bar and has been admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Although Casey focuses his practice in South Florida, he also has a breadth of experience litigating in courts throughout Florida and beyond. He regularly practices in Florida’s state and federal courts and, further, has experience litigating a variety of appellate issues. Casey has been recognized in the “Rising Stars” category of Florida’s SuperLawyers for eight years running.
